Prepairing legs for my class I developed a technique to make legs That you may be interested in. Ones that are strudy and easily made to fit pewter feet. As you can see in the picture they are made from regular electrical copper wire. Cut to length, bend to shape, hold together with a rubber band inforced close pin. The solder will not stick to wood. Using a hand held solder iron, I flowed the solder to fill in the gap. Do not over do it, because you want the wire to make up the leg bones. Add a ball of Kullis Karvet, flatten it out to make the joint, texture and you are ready to paint. I used Orange Blast cleaner to get the greese flux off, just soak for an hour or so, brush and rinse. When you attach to the foot press a little Kulis to join the foot to the leg after you use 5 minute epoxy to join the two together, textrue the joint and you are done.
