Come carve with us. Carving time is Sunday 1 to 3 and Tuesday 10:00 to 4:00
Beginners welcome. We have some veteran carvers with over 30 years experience and some enthusiastic carvers with just a few years. Want to carve a bird, do a caricarture, chip carve, relief carve, woodburn or just whittle. Come on in and join in the fun.
The Woodcarvers of Northwest Arkansas is an organization bringing together people with a common interest in carving and preserving an art form dating back to Egyptian times. The club further enhances the members' interest and abilities through the exchange of ideas, techniques and information; promoting the art of woodcarving and provides a very enjoyable fellowship with carvers from across Northwest Arkansas and the Ozarks region. The Club has accumulated an extensive library of over 350 books, videos and 35 resin cast go bys. All this is available to members on a check out basis, to be returned in two weeks. Beginner classes and other specific classes are offfered from time to time at the club house.
The club helps host the War Eagle Woodcarving Seminar each year.
The club was organized in 1977 by a small group of carvers and now has grown to over 50 carvers. The club started annual shows in 1978 and has evolved into a respected show, competition and sales event drawing carvers from far and wide.
Membership is $20.00 paid annually. Drop by Foxfire and pick up an allpication.
