Here is an idea. Woodcarvers of Northwest Arkansas is starting in January or February (weather permitting) a quarterly get together of area carving clubs. Woodcarvers of Northwest Arkansas will host the first one here in Rogers at our Foxfire building. It will consist of just carving, visiting, eating a chili lunch and visiting some more over a good cup of coffee. I will be in touch closer to the date (yet to be set) with clubs in Tulsa to Mountainhome to Springfield MO and all in between. If you are intrested in comming please send me an email and I will get you on the email list. After the first one we will be looking for volenteer clubs for the next 3. The idea is to visit with surrounding clubs and hopefully generate intrest at the local club level and recruit some new carvers. I visited with those who came to our show last week and got a great response. This would be a 9 to 4 get together on a Saturday and you can leave when you need to. 1/2 day or the whole shebang. I think it will be great fun visiting with area carvers, shareing tips and general story telling. Carvers are a great group, always willing to share their passon and I am sure stimulate interest in future carvers fror all the clubs around us. There would be no charge for the meeting and we would incurrage you to bring non carving friends (recruits) to share the fun.
Whatever your hand finds to do, do it with your might.
